Exemplar Holdings has made investments in two Kansas City area affordable housing communities. The Cold Storage Lofts in the River Market area is a 234 unit affordable housing community that provides housing to individuals and families earning less than 80 percent of the median income in the area.
The Jazz Hill apartments were purchased by Exemplar and its affiliates in 2017. The community had fallen into disrepair, with roughly half of its units uninhabitable, when Exemplar stepped in with its initial investment to turn the community around. Comprised of 199 units among 11 historic buildings, the Jazz Hill complex has for years provided workforce housing options for low income Kansas Citians in search of safe, reliable and cost-effective living.
The Jazz Hill apartment homes are currently undergoing a multi-year renovation to restore their stately beauty. Exemplar’s commitment to the project and the neighborhood will ensure that Jazz Hill remains a community destination for years to come.
